Why Study in New Zealand?

The "Green List" Advantage

New Zealand’s immigration system is skills-based. SD Edu Services aligns your course selection with the government’s Green List, giving you a clear, prioritized pathway to residency (often immediately after finding a job).

3-Year Open Work Visa

Study a Master’s degree (Level 9) and get a 3-Year Post-Study Work Visa with full open work rights. This gives you ample time to secure a skilled job.

PhD at Domestic Rates

A unique benefit—International PhD students pay the same low tuition fees as local New Zealanders (approx. NZD $7,000 – $9,000 per year) and their spouses get full work rights.

Practical vs. Research

Choose your path. We partner with the 8 Universities (for academic research) and Te Pūkenga (New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology) for hands-on, job-ready training.

Safe & Welcoming

Consistently ranked one of the most peaceful nations on earth, NZ offers a “stress-free” study environment surrounded by breathtaking nature.

FAQs

Can my spouse work while I study?

This depends on your course level.

  • Master’s (Level 9) & PhD: Yes, your spouse gets an Open Work Visa.
  • Bachelor’s/Diploma (Level 7/8): Generally, NO, unless your specific degree is on the “Green List” of ineligible qualifications. SD Edu Services will check this eligibility for you.
What is the difference between Level 7, 8, and 9?
  • Level 7: Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Diploma (1 year).
  • Level 8: Postgraduate Diploma (1 year).

Level 9: Master’s Degree (1.5 – 2 years). Recommendation: We advise Indian students to aim for Level 9 to secure the 3-year post-study work visa.

Is it easy to get PR in New Zealand?

It is straightforward if you study the right course. If you secure a job in a Tier 1 Green List role (like Engineering, IT, or Health) after graduation, you can apply for “Straight to Residence.” For other roles, you may need to work for 2 years (Work to Residence).

When should I apply for the September intake?

Ideally, you should start your application by January or February to secure your seat and apply for scholarships.
